 Curriculum.

Our first English text that we will be learning about is called Strictly No Elephants where the children will be learning about the parts of a story and how to extend our sentences with conjunctions, add detail with adjectives and expanded noun phrases and punctuate our sentences accurately.

In Maths, we are looking at the place value of numbers to 100, what they mean and how they can be represented in different ways as well as how they can be made using tens and ones.

In RE, we will be looking at the religion of Islam and the 99 names for Allah. In Art, we will be looking at how to use our sketchbooks, how to take care of them and how to make them as unique as we are. In Geography, we will be looking at Redditch and creating maps of our local area as well as learning about how to keep ourselves safe online in Computing. Lastly, in Science we will be looking at animals and their lifecycles.

Reading Books.

Reading books will be changed weekly in school and your child may be read with at any point within the week. Please ensure your child comes to school with their correct banded reading book and reading record each day. Library books will be changed on our library day each Wednesday.

PE.

We have PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday every week and children need to come to school

wearing their PE kit which is a white T-shirt, blue shorts and a plain (or with a school logo)

navy blue tracksuit top and bottoms, there should be no branded PE uniform with sports brand

logos. All children are expected to be in the correct PE kit as this is part of our uniform.
