Children’s Mental Health Week

Thank you to all children who have completed their Find Your Brave homework activity. The children have enjoyed their Show and Tell in class and we are pleased to see that our children are stepping out of their comfort zone and trying new experiences. Please see our mental health and wellbeing board with some examples of Finding Your Brave.

Safer Internet Day

At school this week, we have celebrated Safer Internet day 2020. This year, the theme is about your own identify. The whole school had an assembly presentation about this theme and explored identity and what makes us all special and unique. We talked about the amazing things that we can do online and the advice from the assembly about how to keep safe when online.

Values Winners this half term

Well done to all the children who received a Values certificate this half term. Yesterday we enjoyed our tea party to celebrate their achievements. The tea party for Values Winners next half will be held on Thursday 2nd April at 2:30pm.

Whole School Sports Event

On Friday 28th February all the children will be taking part in a skipping workshop delivered by Jump Rope. The aim of this workshop is for children to master the skill of skipping and possibly learn a few more tricks. Skipping is a great form of exercise and one of the best to increase fitness. We aim to provide skipping ropes for children at lunchtimes and hopefully this event will inspire them to skip. There is also an opportunity for parents to purchase skipping ropes from the company. The leaflet attached gives prices for individual ropes which you can purchase through the company website.

Staffing Update

We will be saying goodbye to Mr Harris, our Site Manager, who will be leaving St Luke’s on Friday 28th February. We have advertised for a new Site Manager but, due to checks and training, this post will not start immediately after Mr Harris departs. This will mean that the school will be without a Site Manager for a period of time.

This situation may affect the parking at Southcrest Church and we will update you on this after half term.

If you know of anybody who might be interested in the Site Manager’s position, please speak to Mrs Cox who will advise where details can be found.

We are also advertising for a cleaner to work Mon- Fri (3:00-4:30pm) term time only.

We would like to wish you all a restful and enjoyable half term and we will see you back in school on Monday 24th February.
